Passports!

Praise the Lord for the money for Anna and Joseph to get their passports!  We are so thankful to the Lord and those who gave anonymously so they could apply for their passports this week.  Please pray for a quick turn around on Hannah, Joseph and Anna's passports and that there are no issues.

Please also continue to pray for us as we continue our fund raising efforts.  We surpassed the halfway mark but still have a long way to go.

We are thankful for you and how you support us all.

Meet Tim!

Hi, I'm Tim and I am a sophomore Pre-Allied Health major from Midwest City, OK.

I play soccer and run track for OBU.  I also love to rock climb whenever I get the opportunity.

I have always felt a desire from within me that yearned for Africa. However, I knew that up until now, God had called me to minister to those closest to me. Recently, the desire to spread the Word of God overseas became very great. I knew that God was equipping me and calling me to go overseas, but I did not know when or how or with who. For most of Freshman year of college through the summer after, God was slowly revealing to me these answers as I would pray and think about what it was God was calling me to specifically. Then one day, I was asked by Dayla to prayerfully consider joining her on a month-long mission trip to Zambia. Shortly after, I felt God saying that Zambia was where He wanted me. As I prepare to go, I am constantly reassured that God wants to use me in Zambia to bring Him glory. I'm excited to see what He will do in Zambia.

Meet Joseph!

Hi! I'm Joseph, a freshmen Youth Ministry major from Denison, TX.

I have played soccer since I was four and enjoy running long distances.  I would say that I am a very compassionate person, or at least I strive to be.

Having had a rough childhood, I am able to connect with people who are going through tough times.  I enjoy trying to help them.

I am going to Zambia to show the love of God to others while also expanding my own relationship with God to new levels.  Africa has always had a special place in my heart and children do as well.  This trip really hit me as something I want to do.

Praise God for Answered Prayers!

Praise the Lord for answered prayers.  Through several different sources, Anna has received all the funds needed to get her passport which she will be applying for on Monday.  Pray for a speedy turn around on getting her passport.

Continue also to pray for money ($145) for Joseph's passport.

Tomorrow the team will be meeting to begin work on planning Bible School material, gathering things for two different fund-raising events and some other planning.  Please be in prayer for this time as well.

The Lord is continuing to provide!

For All of Us,
Dayla

Meet Dayla!

I am Dayla, the Student Ministry Associate at OBU.

I am so excited to be a part of this team.  I have high expectations of all the Lord will do to and through us as we prepare to share the Good News to the people of Zambia.

Personally, I love to write, draw, paint (anything artsy) and especially love photography.  I am a fairly recent graduate of OBU with degree in Psychology.  I absolutely LOVE my job.  I am constantly overwhelmed by the Lord's many blessings as I serve at OBU.  My job mostly entails discipleship and building relationships with students.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve and love on Zambians, the workers on the field and learn many things from them.

Please pray for our team as we seek to serve the Lord in this capacity.

Meet Anna!

Hi, I'm Anna, a freshmen Elementary Education major from McAllen, TX.

I am pretty good at encouraging people, I have a compassion for many and I am pretty hospitable to others.  I love fellow-shipping with people, hanging out and having fun, and I love the feeling of accomplishment so I like to get things done. God has called me to this trip because he has but a longing in my heart to tell the world about Him. I am so excited to see how He will use our team for His glory!

Meet Margo!

Hi! My name is Margo and I'm a senior Nursing major with an Art minor.

I love pouring into peoples lives, playing outside, making things for people, doing crafty things, I adore animals, children are so precious to me, I love to dance, laugh, laugh at my antics and just have fun.

I have been to Ghana, Uganda and Kenya and my heart has fallen in love with Africa and what Our God is doing there.  I have a magnetic pull on children, it doesn't matter the language barrier, God's love is transcendent and I have seen that so many times in my interaction with children.  I am always willing to put my nursing skills to practice.  I am up for anything and am so excited for all God has planned for us in Zambia.

Meet Callie!

Hi! I am Callie, a freshmen Inter-Disciplinary major in Cross-Cultural Ministry, Bible and Teaching English as a Second Language. I am from Fort Smith, Arkansas (Yes, I own shoes.)

I love being a college student and living life with my friends. I love to cook and be in the kitchen. Baking for my friends and family is one of my favorite things ever. My friends and I are experts at planning adventures (not so great at executing them) but that's ok! We still have fun! I love going to Arkansas baseball games! WPS:)  I am always with my friends or family, I really enjoy spending time with who I love most. This includes Jesus, I love studying His Word and learning more and more about Him each day.

Last summer I had the privilege of going to Uganda. I absolutely fell in love with Africa while there and the call to go spread the Gospel to all nations! God has made it so incredibly clear that He wants me to be apart of this team going to Zambia this summer and I am soooo excited! Please be praying for me and my team as we prepare and travel to Zambia to aid missionaries there in spreading the good news of Christ and work at New Day!

Meet Brittany!

Hey guys!  I am Brittany, a freshmen Nursing major from Lexington, OK.

I am a small town girl, in a lonely world..planning on taking a midnight train..OK Just kidding.:) Seriously though, I love to do things for people, especially cook!  I have recently gravitated to the college epidemic of Pinterest where I find trendy craft projects to consume extra time.  I am slightly/kinda/ maybe obsessed with The Pioneer Woman (look her up!) I also enjoy spending time with my family and my friends, who are awesome and constantly make me laugh! Most importantly, I love Jesus. HE is the reason to do all these things and love people the way my team does.

I absolutely can not wait to be in Zambia with the children, adults and missionaries there! I know that God is going to use the people there to shape us and teach us way more that we will teach them.  I believe that God has called me, along with the rest of my team to serve Him this summer.  He has done many miraculous things making this clearer everyday.  I am extremely blessed with the people supporting me, and I'm excited to see what else our God has in store for us in the next few months!

Meet Hannah!

Hello! My name is Hannah Raye.  I am a freshmen Family and Community Services major from Dallas, Texas (God's country).

I enjoy spending time with Jesus, being with friends, laughing, shopping, watching movies, working out, making stupid videos, getting on pinterest, playing jokes on people, crafting, and singing (not really, I have no musical talent whatsoever! When I sing, my friends just laugh.) I am addicted to coffee.

I am so excited to go to Zambia!  I am all for trying new things, I know I will get many opportunities to while in Zambia!  This will be my fourth time out of the United States, but my first time in Africa.

I am looking forward to spending the month of June in Zambia!

Why am I going to Zambia, you ask? God completely worked everything out and I was not even aware of it. I met Dayla (leader of the Team) at a Bible study; she was talking about how she was going to Zambia this summer, and I (being myself) piped in and said, "I am going to Zambia with you!" Little did I know that that was just what God had planned for me. God has laid a desire and longing on my heart for Zambia and the people in Zambia. Isn't it amazing how God works while we are completely oblivious? Right now, I am asking God to make me teachable, so I will be open to learning from everyone I come in contact with in Zambia, and even at OBU. I know the people in Zambia will teach and impact me so much more than I will impact or teach them.

Celebrating His Faithfulness!

Praise God for how He is providing.  Today our team received a total of $1,250 making our total $13,765.  We are only $235 from being half way there!  Please continue to pray for His faithful provision as we work to get each person on our team to Zambia.  Pray especially this week for Joseph and Anna that the Lord would provide an abundance of finances for their trips.

Take a second and thank the Lord with us for His faithfulness.

For All of Us,
Dayla
